 Buhari to unveil new naira note tomorrow


Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the central bank has confirmed that President Muhammad Buhari unveil the designed naira tomorrow Wednesday, November 23, 2022.


Emefiele announced this during the central bank's monetary policy committee monthly meeting in Abuja.

Recall that Emefiele had announced in October that the apex bank would issue redesign N200, N500, and N1000 notes, effective December 15, 2022.

However, he has disclosed that CBN won't wait till December anymore for the unveiling of the notes.

He said the deadline for returning the old naira notes to commercial bank in exchange of newly designed  ones would not be shifted.

They urged the court to order the electoral umpire to resume the exercise in accordance with the law of the country
