There was a fire outbreak at the headquarters of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abuja on Friday.
Eddy Megwa, Director, Press Relations of the scheme, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
Megwa stated that no life was lost in the fire outbreak which occurred in the early hours of Friday.
He said the fire was immediately put out by the Federal capital territory and federal fire service Departments, adding that the inferno which started at about 7:30am was limited to the third floor of the six storey building.
The NYSC spokesman noted that the floor is occupied by planning, research and statistics, and the general service Departments, saying that the fire affected only a room with electronic gadgets.
"Fortunately enough, no life was lost and all vital documents were promptly evacuated and safeguarded.
"The management of the scheme heartily appreciate the Federal and FCT fire service Departments for their promote response which minimised the effect of the incident.
"Management also appreciate all security agencies for the invaluable roles they played during the unfortunate incident," Megwa stated.
