 INEC react to court order for resumption of voters registration. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reacted to a court order directing it to resume voters registration for the 2023 election. INEC spokesman Festus Okoye said it is impossible to resume the continuous voters registration (CBR) exercise. " It would be constitutionally and legal impossible for the Commission to resume the continuous voters exercise," Okoye during Channels Television interview on Tuesday. The INEC official cited challenges of resources and mobilisation security personnel as factors that will hinder a resumption of voters registration. A federal high Court in Abuja on Tuesday ordered INEC to resume the continuous voters registration (CVR) exercise. Justice Inyang Ekwo said the voters registration ought to last until 90 days before the 2023 general election.  Buhari to unveil new naira note tomorrow Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the central bank has confirmed that President Muhammad Buhari unveil the designed naira tomorrow Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Emefiele announced this during the central bank's monetary policy committee monthly meeting in Abuja. Recall that Emefiele had announced in October that the apex bank would issue redesign N200, N500, and N1000 notes, effective December 15, 2022. However, he has disclosed that CBN won't wait till December anymore for the unveiling of the notes. He said the deadline for returning the old naira notes to commercial bank in exchange of newly designed  ones would not be shifted.   Academic Staff Unions Of Universities (ASUU) University of Jos chapter has ordered it is members to resume work. At the ASUU Congresses meeting on 4th November, 2022, the union resolved to sit or work from home in view of the half salary paid to their members for the month of October which can not take them to their places of work. A statement issued in Jos and signed by the branch chairperson, Associate professor Lazarus L. Maigoro  said the resolution was subject to the final decision of their national body. He said, "However, after receiving briefing of our National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the 7th November, 2022, our members resolved to vacate the sit/work at home decision while also reaffirming our commitment in the ability of our principal officers to handle the matter appropriately," Maigoro added that this implies that their members are fully back to work on campus.
